First analysis

this is a image of Richard Hamilton by John  Hedgecoe
FACTIONAL: John Hedgecoe (24 March 1932 – 3 June 2010) was an award-winning British photographer and author of over 30 books on photography He established the photography department in 1965 at the Royal College of Art, where he was Professor from 1975 to 1994 and Professor Emeritus until his death. He was also Pro-Rector of the college from 1981 to 1993. His photographs appear in permanent collections at the New York Museum of Modern Art and London's National Portrait Gallery. The painting is based on a lapel badge that the artist saw on his first visit to America. .  Information found on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hedgecoe
CONTEXT: the image was made in 1964. this is not a digital image.
TECHNICAL: i think he has used a DSLR camera to achieve such a good sharpness around the mans body. also if you look carefully enough you can see were this photographs light is coming from. it is coming from the window to Hedgecoe's right that is then shining on to the mirror. this creates a really nice affect.
AESTHETIC: i really like this photograph, i think it appeals to both sex's. i also like how the mirror or glass window says 'to me', which gives this image a bit of mystery, which i love with a          photograph

  1. Ok Scott welldone for keeping up the pace...using the same example as the teacher has allowed you to go through the process, however part of your assessment is how YOU research effectively. Carry on to assignment 3 and complete one post by the end of the lesson today but you will have to allocate time to do this again finding your own image.
